HEADSTART 6: Empowering Future Architects at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM)

“In May, Headstart took a trip up north to the School of Housing, Building & Planning at Universiti Sains Malaysia.
The event commenced at 2.30 pm with a warm welcome from the esteemed Vice Chancellor of Universiti Sains Malaysia followed by the Head of the School of Housing, Building & Planning, expressing their delight in hosting such an important event for the aspiring architecture graduates of USM.
The highlight of the opening session was the speech delivered by Ar. Adj. Prof Norzaini Mufti, Director of Kuala Lumpur Architectural Festival (KLAF) 2023 and proceeded with an introduction by Ar Ellina Rahman, Convener of sub-theme “Educate” under KLAF, who shared her valuable expertise, setting the stage for the exciting sessions to come.
Final year degree and master students were encouraged to to attend HEADSTART with their portfolio – suited for the 15 mins job interview simulations, where each panel will interview the students. This aims to provide students with an opportunity to practice their interview skills and receive feedback from industry professionals to help prepare for their job-hunting process and kick-start their careers in architectural practices.
