Roundtable Discussion on Graduate Architects’ Challenges and Tribulations

A roundtable discussion has been held to delve into the problems that graduate architects experience during their academic years and when they join the profession. Sharing varied opinions, backgrounds, experiences, and prospective career trajectories will benefit the debate. The event seeks to provide young aspiring creatives and architects with insights and guidance.
The roundtable discussion is set as a circle, with participants responding to ten distinct questions with the moderator encouraging the panelist to discuss their ideas and experiences. The first hour-long session featured questions about self, job plan, family, and exploring other creative disciplines. The second two-hour session discussed issues such as current stipend, working culture, bridging the gap between education and industry, LAM Part 3 professional test, collective improvement in the industry, and recommendations for young aspiring creatives and architects.
This roundtable discussion is hoped to provide valuable insights into the obstacles that graduate architects confront and how they might overcome them and the panel and attendees will benefit from all the different viewpoints and experiences
The roundtable discussion is open to all architects, regardless of experience level. The event’s goal is to create a forum for young architects to share their expertise and experiences, as well as to stimulate their growth and development.
